So many reports during the course of the weekend made mention of certain problems arising with the Pixel 2 XL’s display which for some reason now appears to be affecting only the LG made Poled Display of the larger Pixel 2 XL but not the smaller HTC made Pixel 2’s.

As a result of this upcoming and may be unexpected issues Google Inc. is investigating thoroughly these matters arising – The Verge reports says.

Some of these problems observed and commented on are: Screen burn which is an issue that organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays experience, where images resting for too long on the screen causes it to leave behind something in the nature of a “ghost image” underneath, also complaints on bad colour balance, weird graininess shown with white backgrounds were made.

Also during use it is noticed that by displaying something with a white background, the phone would display a faint but visible outline of the navigation bar although it is also noted that this issue is some what characterized with displays in general after a period of months or years but definitely not days or weeks.

These observations and complaints were made by a reasonable number of the Pixel 2 XL users whom also happened to be mostly tech reviewers and when these complaints got to Google and they were asked of their comment, Google said on The Verge report “The Pixel 2 XL screen has been designed with an advanced POLED technology, including QHD+ resolution, wide color gamut, and high contrast ratio for natural and beautiful colors and renderings. We put all of our products through extensive quality testing before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit. We are actively investigating this report.”

This smart device which operates with Google’s version of Android makes use of software navigation button that stay at the bottom of the screen except in the case of contents that requires a full screen view such as games or videos comes in.
