The third edition of the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards which is to hold in Cape Town on November 6th 2017 now has its finalists announced.
Nigerian startups have flooded almost all the nominees’ categories. PiggyBank NG, an online savings platform finds itself battling with Flutterwave, another Nigerian startup in the Fintech Award category. The other Nigerian startups battling for honour are: Kudi, Medsaf, Wetin Dey, Bounce News, VConnect, Dress Me Outlet and Jumia.
“The AppsAfrica Awards were originally set up three years ago to celebrate the best in mobile and tech across the continent as many ventures do not get the visibility or recognition they deserve. This year produced a vast array of great entries from exciting new technologies utilising AI, bots and drones to mobile, health and education initiatives scaling across Africa” said Andrew Fassnidge founder of AppsAfrica.com.
The other startups dominating the list are from other African countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana and Rwanda. The only foreign continental nominee is an American startup – Juntos.
