It seems like Google has decided to put on their A game when it comes to women empowerment. It isn’t alien to us how not too encouraging women have been when it comes to developing, and technology on a general note. it however seem like Google has resolved to contribute their own quota towards putting an end to that.

How are they doing this? you might ask. Well, Google is giving females a free access to one of Udacity’s Google-certified online courses, for one year, this, which on a normal base, would cost enrollers about $199/month, instead, you’d (females) get to enroll for FREE. This is a giant stride towards getting females involved in the real deal.

The courses available include Front End Web Development, Android Basics, Android Developer, or Full Stack Development.

Please note that it is not only access to one of these premium courses, you will also get the opportunity to participate in a “global community of women in technology through your specialized Nanodegree cohort hosted by Women Techmakers”  as well as “career coaching and interview tips from Google and our partners.” 


FOR ELIGIBILITY? You have to meet the following requirements…

  • Identify as a woman
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time the application is submitted
  • Have fluency or near-fluency in English
  • Commit to finishing the Nanodegree program within one year
  • Meet Udacity’s technology requirements
  • And Apply.
