So Gionee decided to do something beyond the ordinary and present us an end of the year gift or maybe an early new year gift. They have released the M2017 smartphone who though having mind boggling features like the Internal Memory of 128 GB ROM and the 6 GB RAM.
Even if all other parts of the Gionee M2017 fell short of their respective specifications, which they didn’t, there is one part that would never break your heart – the battery. Gionee decided to gift and surprise fans with a whooping 7000 mAh battery capacity. Splendid, isn’t it? I’m sure you are already imagining how much time you can sit with your Gionee M2017 – when you get yours – without it giving you that most hated “battery low” signal. Trust me, I hate that thing.
The 7000 mAh battery capacity is more than three times the capacity of the standard battery, double most of the existing extended batteries.
However, let us cut the chase and get to the crux of the matter. A 7000 mAh battery translates that such battery can supply 7000 Milli ampere in one hour. But the thing is we don’t use that much in an hour, we use much lower right?
While the discharge rate of batteries or the amount we use per hour varies by individuals and by smartphones depending on how many apps are running and how rigorously the smartphone owner is making use of it. But for the purpose of this study, we’re going to be pegging the average battery use at 145 milliampere per hour.
So let’s do simple physics, at 145 mAh, a 7000 mAh battery would be lasting you 7000/145 which translates into approximately 48 hours. Though it is still relative to how often you make use of the smartphone or how many apps you have running on it at a particular period which now determines its discharge rate per hour.
So there you have it, the Gionee M2017 can last you a little more than two days, relatively though. You can imagine that right? Please note that this time frame could be more, and it could be less. By the way, I am very happy that Gionee has finally tapped into my belief that just as “water is life” for humans, “battery is life” for smartphones.

In addition to the battery, Gionee has made sure that all other specs are actually on point, and pegged the price at $1000. The question now is, would you get a Gionee M2017 for that sum, considering its battery? Let’s hear you…
