Android Nougat made a solid jump in usage. The number of handsets with either Android 7.0 and 7.1 installed jumped 45% from April’s report. 7.1% of Android devices are running on Nougat compared to the 4.9% that were using it as of last month.

Although, the number is still less compared to Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is running on 31.2% Android devices. Still, the Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop is leading the pack with a distribution figure of 32%. KitKat saw a slight decrease to 18.8% (down from 20.0%), Jelly Bean down to 9.1% (10.1%), Ice Cream Sandwich to 0.8% (0.9%) and Gingerbread somehow gained users at 1.0%, up from last month’s 0.9%.

These numbers might not be too surprising as recent news has it that Infinix S2Pro received a Nougat update barely two weeks after it was launched. Though Infinix does not represent all the android devices we have, it could portray how well patronized or received the update is in the market.
